About John

John Montgomery is a seminary trained lay person living and working in the Atlanta area. John holds graduate degrees from the Divinity School of the University of Chicago and Chicago Theological Seminary. John and his late spouse, Judy Sparks Montgomery, spent 15 years as part of the international staff of the Ecumenical Insititue: Chicago working in Micronesia, the larger Pacific Islands, Asia, Europe, Latin America, Africa and the United States. In the late 1980s, John served as the Executive Director for the Institute on the Church in Urban-Industrial Society (ICUIS) Before her death, Judy worked as an Executive with the General Board of Global Ministries training United Methodist mission personnel. Presently, John helps raise money for hunger causes in North Georgia.

John and Judy raised two fine sons: Matthew (24) is a professional sculptor working and studying in the Atlanta area and Timothy (27) works with the hospitality industry in Tallahassee.
